| Ceon Corporation, the leading provider of proven service fulfillment software solutions for next generation broadband and IP services, today announced the integration and use of Ceon's Product Management, Order Management and Service Activation Software in the IBM Service Delivery Platform (SDP) solution.
The IBM SDP is a pre-integrated solution that enables communications service providers to more efficiently and quickly roll-out and provision high-margin bundled and converged services. The SDP is a SOA and Web Services based solution architected to meet the operational needs of Tier-1 service providers. IBM's offering is being showcased at the IBM Telecommunications Solutions Lab in Austin, Texas.
Ceon supports product and order management functions on the front-end of the SDP solution. Ceon's software allows a product manager to define products based on service and feature definitions, to define market offerings based on product definitions, and to publish those offerings in a customer facing catalog. Ceon also captures orders, performs the product to service order decomposition, and then transmits the service orders to the IBM WebSphere process management layer for orchestration and completion of remaining fulfillment tasks. On the network-facing end of the SDP, Ceon supports service activation functions as well. Ceon receives resource activation work orders from the process management layer, and activates services and features on network resources via adapters.
"Ceon is committed to working with IBM to deliver a solution that is based on best-in-class industry leading software components," said Peter Burke, CEO of Ceon. "The teamwork and cooperation between IBM and all the software providers involved in the SDP initiative is allowing us to meet the need service providers have for end-to-end solutions that can be deployed much more quickly and cost-effectively.
